CMYK is ‘Four Colour Process Printing’ and is also known as ‘Full Colour Printing’
The system uses four process colours – Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and BlacK – and, by using combinations of these in various tints, it is possible to produce virtually every colour imaginable!
Our quality is so good we’ve guaranteed the service. Look at our homepage to read the quality guarantee speedinprint.com
But basically our quality is second to none – you will not be disappointed!
The majority of our products are printed using conventional Full Colour Litho Printing but for shorter runs we use Digital Printing to ensure you get the best price for your project.
The main difference between digital and litho is digital prints one copy of the file at a time, like your printer at home. Litho is where a plate is made and they are done in sheets and then trimmed.
For litho machines the set up cost is more because the plate has to be made, but once you have that then you can do large quantities on a more economical scale than digital.
Improvements in digital technology have lead to great advances in quality and our machines produce an almost identical quality match to litho presses.
Yes, we have cutter guides available for our Printed Folders – these are available to download from the folder printing page.
Bleed is needed to ensure your finished product looks its best. Images, background colours and other fills, which are intended to print to the trimmed edge of the page, should be extended 3mm beyond the edge to give a bleed and allow for any slight movement during the cutting process. Without bleed you may have a white border.
We accept a variety of file types, including PDF, Indesign, Quark, Illustrator, Photoshop, Publisher* and Word*. When sending artwork please ensure that it is fully print ready. If it isn’t then we are happy to make it so at a cost of £35, but please try and let us know in advance.
For more information on the files we accept – and how you can send them to us – please click on upload artwork.
Alternatively, please feel free to call us on 01832 280 032 – we’ll be happy to help.
* In .eps .tiff or .jpg format only.
If you are not able to take delivery of your order, our courier will leave a card to let you know they tried to make the delivery. Please call the number on the card to rearrange.
Our packaging is usually branded. However, if you would prefer it not to be then please notify us when you place your order and we will be happy to accommodate your request.
Paper and card are specified by their weight in grams per square metre (gsm).
For example, fax or photocopier paper is usually 80gsm, a good quality leaflet is 150gsm, a sturdy printed folder is on 350gsm. However, these can be changed to accommodate personal preferences, with higher GSM often making a finished product feel like it is of a higher quality.
